🔍 Definition:

Procedure Text is a type of text that explains how to do something or how to make something step by step.


🎯 Purpose:

To tell the reader how to do or make something correctly and in order.


🧩 Generic Structure:

  1. Goal
    The aim or purpose of the activity (e.g., How to Make Fried Rice).

  2. Materials/Ingredients
    The things needed to do the process (e.g., rice, oil, eggs, etc.).

    This part is optional if the process doesn't need materials.

  3. Steps/Methods
    The instructions written in order.


🗣️ Language Features:

  • Imperative sentences (commands):
    Cut the paper, Mix the flour, Turn on the stove, etc.

  • Action verbs:
    Mix, boil, cut, fold, pour, plug in, stir, etc.

  • Connective words:
    First, next, then, after that, finally.

  • Simple Present Tense


🍳 Example:

Title: How to Make a Sandwich
Materials:

  • 2 slices of bread

  • 1 slice of cheese

  • Butter

  • Lettuce

Steps:

  1. Take two slices of bread.

  2. Spread butter on one side of each slice.

  3. Put a slice of cheese and some lettuce between the bread.

  4. Press the sandwich gently.

  5. Cut it into two parts.

  6. Serve and enjoy!
